location: Hotel Puri Melaka is a boutique hotel located in the heart of the old city of Malacca. It is a 30 minute drive from the North-South Highway (Malacca/Ayer Keroh exit), and 10 minute drive from central bus station. Surrounded by antique and bric-a-brac shops, it is only a 10 minutes walking distance from Malacca's historical precinct.
rooms: The rooms are simple but clean. Some of Deluxe rooms have balconies. The Puri Suite has a separate living room and bedroom and is decorated with antique furnishings. The rooms are almost all different in size and shape. All rooms with individual air-conditioning units. The bathrooms are simple with tiled floors and walls and standing shower.
restaurant: Galeri cafe is available and open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Located in the courtyard, but connected to the hotel building.
exterior: The beige exterior is blended in well with the surrounding shop houses. Some windows look down on the street.
lobby: Old world charm of lobby with patterned flooring and antique chandeliers. Though small, it is nicely decorated with Peranakan artefacts and shows the traditional structure courtyard style houses.
general: This is a 3 star and considered as a First category of accommodation. A quaint boutique style hotel in picturesque Chinatown which is ideal for visitors who want to see the local lifestyle. (JH 20/08/2008)
