The very big problem with this hotel was that there was seldom any hot water for washing, shaving or showering. One time there was no water at all during the week I stayed at the Beijing Best Eastern Inn. Another problem was the inadequacy of the air conditioning. When set on high, the unit barely cooled a small room. I suspect the problem is with the equipment itself because I found all of the staff members to be courteous, polite and helpful when they could. One last problem is the lack of visa facilities and the necessity to prepay the room, which is very inconvenient. One afternoon I came back to find myself locked out because my advance down payment had run out and I had no idea of it. I had to pay more cash and then rush out to find an ATM machine. In a way it was humiliating but I didn't know what the policy was. That in part was my fault because I don't speak Chinese, but I did have Chinese-speaking friends with me when I checked in and they weren't told the rules. Thank you for listening to my complaints.
