I am not sorry Istayed here, enjoyed the view, proxomity to everything & convenience. Although the staff were friendly, the hotel may have only scrapped in to a 4* for several reasons - but most disappointing was the breakfast buffet. None of the lighters under the food are lit and therefore food goes cold, they are not retopped when empty and there is limited variety made with non-fresh food. Eg the corn congee - corn old, & dry. Ilove cron congee but couldn't eat this. A number of dishes were like this. Even the Chinese guests were complaining. The service girls were nice but seemed to be an issue from above. As even when a Chinese family complained wth the buffet manager about all the food being cold or luke warm - at no time were the burners lit over my 4 days here.
NOt enough western food for those not used to mainland chinese food.
Also non-Chinese speakers may find it a little hard here to communicate. I ended up needing to use my Chinese for the whole stay. The only English channels that are listed on the TV guide- do not exist. I am informed they no longer have them. This is very poor given that even HK English channels are not being received. These are standards channels in this part of China. I asked could a DVD player but put in the room for the 4 days or a DVD player into the computer but no efforts were made to do either of these, although the manager was pleasant to talk with. |

|
Linda Seaview Hotel is a pretty good one, compare with other ones. It is safe, clean, and the dining room is one of the best. I am not asking for something way beyond the price they ask for. Linda is a very reasonable place to recommend. The only pity is that their night club/the bar are a bit quiet. Of course, that is NOT their fault. |
