The staff at this hotel were very friendly and helpful, especially Ms. Fang at the reception desk. She remembered us from previous phone calls to the hotel and made arrangements for local transportation etc. with amazing speed. There are many down sides to this hotel, however. The location is bad - many motorcycle dealerships around but no restaurants within short walking distance. So if you don't want to be on the street for too long, you are at the mercy of the hotel restaurant, which has OK service but lousy food. The shrimp in Singapore rice noodle had such a stench that it had to go straight to the garbage! They did give refund for the dish and claimed that it was reported to the head chef, but there really shouldn't be a need for any report - anybody can smell it from accross the room! The biggest problem is prostitution. We wondered if there is some link between the prostitutes and some staff there because they knew exactly which rooms we were in. In addition to the "Massage, sir?" phone calls, they also knock on the doors. And they are aggressive - at one point in the evening there were 4 prostitutes at our door at the same time! Would not go back to this hotel. |
