This hotel is in an excellent location - right inside the south gate. It's the top two floors of a larger building, and felt deserted even though there were quite a few other customers. There are no dedicated hotel restaurant facilities - they use the restaurant on the ground floor; the breakfast is Chinese food only. If you're looking for a hotel where no staff speaks any English, this is the one for you! We were extremely surprised by this as we thought it would not be an issue in Xian, being a tourist area, and it made our stay quite tricky even though we speak a bit of Chinese. The staff were extremely helpful once they understood what we wanted. They also only offered sightseeing tours in Chinese. We had booked "sunshine rooms" - very large rooms, each with a sitting area and a small walled yard - lovely and sunny in the morning, but no views at all unfortunately. They do NOT accept credit cards. |

The room was excellent, but it did not have a window to the outside. The staff tried to be helpful, but language was a problem. I enjoyed its location near the Bell & Drum Towers and the South Gate. |
