     Introduction
location: Located in the district of Tanjong Pagar, the area straddles between Chinatown and the business district. Down the road is Duxton which is a famous pub and restaurant area. Across the road from the hotel is a hawker centre and wet market. The MRT station of Tanjong Pagar is behind the hotel, about a 3 minute walk.
rooms: Deluxe rooms is spacious, room is at 31 square metres. The rooms are in natural and earth tones with timber furnishing. Rooms are in good conditions and equipped with broadband internet access, voice mail and tea/coffee making facility. Deluxe rooms are designed by renowned design firm Hirsch Bedner Associates. Rooms are done in ultra modern minimalist style with excellent finishing.
restaurant: Element Restaurant serving daily international lunch and dinner buffets is inspired by the five elements in Chinese astrology. Santaro feature traditional Japanese fare. Chinese cuisine from Sichuan, Shaanxi, Liaoning and Beijing are served at Silk Road. Thanying, a prestigious Thai restaurant serving authentic Thai cuisine. Hue Restobar is a Vietnamese restaurant and bar cum wine & cigar r3etail outlet, the restaurant and bar are located on the upper deck while the wine and cigar bar occupies the lower deck. Cafe Oriental with 1950s Chinese coffeeshop decor serves original Singaporean cuisine.
exterior: The hotel stands out on it own amongst the shophouses but further in the background are the skyscrapers of the business district. Connected to the building is a shopping mall called the Amara shopping centre.
lobby: An impressive lobby with high ceiling and light woods juxtaposed with metals highlighting this cool minimalist theme of the hotel. Largely an empty space with restaurants and a pub to the left and right respectively.
general: A very modern design hotel near the MRT stop. Walking distance to Chinatown and part of the business district. sg 10/06
