Comment We had a wonderful time and loved the location at the quiet end of the beach. the pools were wonderful. Would have liked the hot tub to be hot. The one by the waterfalls. Also the grounds were very nicely kept and all the staff were polite and helpful. It would have helped for the check -in desk personnel to speak better English. The horses were such a treat for my daughter. It would be nice to have chair pads on the beach chairs. Also it seemed odd that a 5 star hotel would have a squatty toilet in the beachside bathroom. The noise of the construction workers by the beach was quite annoying since we spent a lot of money to getaway for peace and quiet. Perhaps they could work at night. The room was nice and the beds comofrtable. It would be nice to have a schedule of the HBO or Cinemax movies. Many hotels in Beijing have this in each room. We also had hoped to have a microwave oven in our room. We stayed in the Holiday Inn last year and had one. Overall we had a great experience and would recommend the Gloria. The Sheraton is too big and busy, the Holiday Inn has tourists all over the beach all day. The Gloria was just right. We hope to come again. One more detail. When dealing with westerners it would be nice to train your front desk people to be more kind and apologetic when there seems to be a problem. I had thought our room rate included breakfast and it didn't. It is better for good public relations for the desk clerk to say. "i am so sorry if there is a problem or some confusion, I hope we can help you resolve this. The guy named Fo Jack just said "no you do not get breakfast, there must be a mistake" It think it is juist a cultural difference the way we approach problems. He did not display comppassion for the fact that I was disappointed. We work for a company in China that is in 5 cities and has hundreds of personnel. We have 7 in our family and like to travel. We will recommend the Gloria to our colleagues.
