a very disagreeable room. Shower flooded entire bathroom floor. Room very dated and small. Desk personnel were excellent. It is a shame that the room does not match the quality and helpfulness of the front desk staff. Room furniure needs to be tossed out and rooms need to be updated. Bed was like lying on on a board. Restaurant was terrible . We ate next door at the Behai. Tremendous Praise for helpfulness of front desk staff; fooey with the room and restaurant.

Comment
It is understandable that you'll pay premium price for staying at the top of Huangshan. However, the quality of the room and the food is somewhat disappointing given the price. The bathroom is very small and poorly designed. Be very careful when you take a shower, otherwise everything gets wet, including the toilet paper!

Comment
The Shilin is at a top location - that is for sure! On the other hand the hotel value for money is poor, it is way overpriced for what they offer, this includes staff attitude. Avoid the Shilin if you wanna have it dry on your toilet. They have placed the toilet right beside the shower without any splash water protection - so using the toilet after having taken a shower is a kind of wet affair. Restaurant is also way overpriced. So all in all the Shilin is not a bad choice - you get a clean room at a top location - but as i said, do not expect too much for a high price.

This hotel did not live up to our expectations at all. The hotel and rooms were very cold, the staff were unhelpful, and the restaurant had average food that was way overpriced. Overall a big disappointment.
