The courtyard hostel, YangtzeRiver International Youth Hostel, is situated on the banks of the Yangtze River, beside the Huguang Guild where functionaries met in Qing and Ming Dynasties. It is very close to the Chaotianmen Wharf, the gateway for boats departing for the Three Gorges, and to many sites including Three Gorges Museum, Hongya Cave, and Luo Han Temple. It is 10 minutes' walk to Liberation Monument, the center of business. It is very easy to take a cable car, light track, or ferry and to find some of the best bars in Chongqing. There is a bus station, 5 minutes' walk from the hostel. Because of the good location, there are many big and small supermarkets and wholesale markets; it is very convenient for shopping.
The hotel was rebuilt in the style of Chinese ancient royal dynasty and lies in downtown Chongqing. There are two entrances; one is on 1F, the other 5F. The hotel offers a café and a bar, where guest can enjoy the view of the Yangtze River and the beautifully illuminated Chongqing landscape. There is a pool table, place to watch movies, washing rooms, 5 bathrooms, etc. The hostel has five floors with 22 rooms, including group rooms (40 beds), eight standard rooms, which are individually decorated, and four suites. The suites are decorated in different styles, including: "Bamboo" (sanctum style), "Movie" (movie style), "Fume" (southeast- Asia style), and “Fancy" (modern concept). Good restaurants selling local food (China's best Hot Pot) can be found near the hostel. YangtzeRiver International Youth Hostel is a unique hostel combining travelling service, accommodation, and entertainment together.
