The Beijing Far East International Youth Hostel is located in the center of the city. It is inside the old Beijing SIHE Yard opposite the Far East Hotel. The unique building posts and the beams are carved for decoration and embellishment.
It is only 2kms to Tiananmen Square. The culture street - Liu Li Factory & Da Shi Lan shopping center & the scenery Hu Guang Hall are just nearby.

From the Beijing International Airport to the Far East International Youth Hostel: Take Line #C airport shuttle bus, get off at the last stop (Beijing International Hotel), then change to the subway, get off at the Hepingmen subway stop, and walk southward about 1km where you can find the hostel.

The hostel has 14 four-bed rooms and 2 six-bed rooms, accommodating up to 68-persons. There is an independent air-conditioning system and simple bathroom in each room. The hostel provides public showers, self-laundry, a reading room, playroom and IC telephone.

A great place to stay! I am really fond of this hostel. The hostel itself is pretty and traditional looking and the area is just fantastic with lots of restaurants, little shops and market stalls. The locals are very friendly and welcoming. The hostel's restaurant is fairly good, at a reasonable price, and you can get a scrumptious western style breakfast buffet in the Far East Hotel (opposite the hostel). On the down side, the rooms could do with a little bit more cleaning (especially around the wash-basin and the floor in front of the windows, where the dust seems to have accumulated over the years) and more internet/phone facilities would be great (but that's not so bad). On the whole, thumbs up for the Far East Youth Hostel! Love it! |
