The Beijing Hao Yuan Hotel was built during the Qing Dynasty, a highlight for most foreigners staying or visiting the great city. The Prime Minister Tony Blair visited the hotel in 1999. It is surrounded by historical buildings built during the Qing Dynasty, many of which are still preserved today.
The courtyard is shaded by ancient trees, creating a serene and classical backdrop for your stay in Beijing. The restaurant offers mainly "Imperial court food" and Western food as well.

The Beijing Haoyuan Hotel is located near Dongdan Street and Wangfujing Street, about 10-minutes from the Forbidden City and the famous Wangfujing shopping district. The No. 111 bus, No. 108 bus, No. 116 bus and No. 807 bus stop are located nearby.

The suites are located in the inner courtyard: They are the best, most luxurious and largest suites available. The Chinese-style furniture and graceful decoration match each other in harmony. Made of rosewood, the furniture features carved dragons and phoenix. The round armchairs decorated with carved glossy ganoderma on a marble stone back and theunicorn decorated armchairs accompanied in the Deluxe Suite (a long narrow table placed under the central scroll hung in the middle of the wall of the principal room) will make your stay a luxurious one. Chinese paintings, blue and white porcelain vases and a cabinet for treasures, set off by the blue simple carpet, add brilliance to one another.
The guestrooms in the East wing: Here you will find a framed wooden bed, carved with the picture "8 gods and goddess across the sea" (an ancient Chinese fairy tale) and a long bed-like seat (for sitting or laying during your stay) carved with plum, orchid, bamboo and chrysanthemum. These items make every guestroom very poetic and picturesque. The guestrooms in the West wing: The layout of this guestroom is simple and clean. The carved screen and fan hung on the wall make it a place of unique beauty.

Excellent location but in a quiet street so no traffic noise but close to Wangfujing Street and other main attractions. The room and bathroom were very clean, only comment I would make is that walls are very thin so can hear noise from neighbouring room and also any activity going on in the courtyard. Calm, relaxing atmosphere. |

The hotel is nice but as per all accomodation in Beijing it is expensive for what you get compared to elsewhere in China. |
