The hotel is under renovation since October 24, 2009.
The Beijing Taiwan Hotel is situted in Wangfujing Avenue, Beijing's busiest and most famous downtown area. The Taiwan Hotel is uniquely positioned to provide convenience as well as quality service to its guests. The nearest sights include the Wangfujing Department Store and Sun Dong An Plaza, two tourist "must-sees" in Beijing. Located on 3th to 8th and 10th, Deluxe room offer comfortable elegance for business and travelers, some with view of the Wangfujing Street, XinDongAn Plaza, DongFang Square, Beijing typical living house―Si he yuan.
Located on 9th and 10th, Deluxe king-size bed room offer comfortable elegance for business and travelers.

The hotel has three meeting rooms in total, including ZhangHua Hall, HuaLian Hall and TaoYuan Hall.
ZhangHua Hall:
It is located on the second floor;
The area is 120 square meters which can accommodate 25-60 attendees;
Layout styles: theater, Desk type, U-shape, Circle type and Cocktail lounge type, etc; the conference equipments have white board, pencil and paper, microphone, projector(Charge), etc.
HuaLian Hall:
It is located on the second floor;
The area is 110 square meters which can accommodate 20-40 attendees;
Layout styles: Circle type; the conference equipments have white board, pencil and paper, microphone, projector(Charge), etc.
TaoYuan Hall:
It is located on the second floor;
The area is 220 square meters which can accommodate 40-80 attendees;

The hotel is very run down and the facilities un-deserving of its' 4 star ratings and room rates.
Amongst all things, the following were noted:
1. the TV was faulty with buzzing noise and frequently went out of any sound.
2. there was not even a hair dryer in the room/bathroom
3. the safe deposit box was out of order/faulty.
4. the electronic kettle has to be replaced twice because they were faulty. |

Beijing Taiwan Hotel is in an excellent location right by the Wangfujing walking strip. The rooms are quite decent but the carpet should be replaced. The hotel staff do their best to help and its a good value for the location.
Its worth comparing this hotel when looking for a cheaper alternative in Wangfujing area. |
