Broadway Mansions Hotel was built in 1934 by British merchant. It has a long history of over 70 years.
On the 10th to 16th floor Broadway Executive rooms and panorama lounge not only brings indelible and comfortable living experience, but also presents a perfect environment to rest after working hours. The banquet halls on the 17th, 18th and 19th floors are the best place to have a bird's eye view of the best of the city. In the evening, the Bund and Pudong Lu Jiazui area provides a gorgeous night scene.
Opended in 1934, renovated in 2007.

The Broadway Mansions Hotel(Bund) lies at the north end of the Waibaidu Bridge, looking down at Huangpu River. There, one can see sailing boats, the Pudong New Area as well as the architecture complex of different styles. The Broadway Mansions Hotel(Bund) is located in the center of Shanghai, near the Bund. By taxi, you can get to the Shanghai Train Station or Pudong New Area in about ten minutes or half-an-hour to Pudong International Airport.
Alternatively, you can take the shuttle bus to Pudong International Airport if you like.
The hotel offers shuttle bus to the Pudong Airport which starts from 6:10am then 7:40 and then runs one bus every one hour. The last bus ends up at 17:35 from the hotel. Charges are RMB30 yuan per person.

in fifties of 20 century. From the sixties we extract, trim and explore the feature dishes as well as keeping the typical dishes. The Huaiyang cuisine here we recommend to our guests is one of the most famous cuisines in China. The main characteristic is strictly choosing raw and processed food materials, subtly cooking, keeping original taste and juice, good at braising and stewing. The restaurants are the high-grade Chinese style.

we were bumped up to a suit due to a full booking so got better than expected for our rate. nevertheless, a grand place to stay with the best views of the river and bund, given the angle of repose. would not hesitate to return--a full 4 stars!! expect to use a taxi often--not too convenient a walk is all. |

Two major comments:
(1) on the evening of arrival (19/07) we asked the conciergerie for an restaurent. Ther are many nearby (but we did not know that). Instead we were brougt to restaurant 121, one hour by taxi !!!
(2) some days later we asked the conciergerie for a local market (: a buiding with 6 to 7 floors with many, many small shops on each floor). Intead we were brought to óne luxurious jewelry shop, again one hour by taxi !!! |
