DOWNTOWN is located in the famous protected HuTong area. Staying in DOWNTOWN, you can hear old Beijingnises hubbub, you can chat with real beijingnises, and you can walk to BeiHai Park and enjoy an old Beijing opera. Staying in DOWNTOWN, you are in a presentation of very detailed daily life of Beijing citizens, and DOWNTOWN helps you to share most of their traditional customs.
As experimented Backpackers, we know how to match our service to your joie, by providing you supplementary services such as organizing --camping, climbing, and hiking to the Great Walls; and planning visits to watch Beijing opera and Chinese acrobatics. Moreover，for whom interested in Beijingnises’ everyday life, our local tricycle drivers can show you each HuTong around DOWNTOWN, and you will even be invited into some Beijingnise’s home.
Our principle is to help you to save every cent in your trip, and so, breakfast is included in the room price. Our travel information consulting service is always available, because our staff are all experimented backpackers. So, don’t hesitate to talk to them.

Our BACKPACKERS is located in the center of the ancient capital of YUAN dynasty, and that is why our hotel is called Downtown. This area is now the very famous protected area of old Chinese impasses, called HuTong: In NanLuoGu alley, our Downtown is near the Forbidden grove and just behind BeiHai Park.
You can easily go to Tiananmen Square, Summer Palace, Forbidden City, Temple of Haven, etc. by bus. The subway station is only 20 minutes by foot, and public facilities such as banks, post office, supermarkets are very near.

Just wanted to let you know that we really enjoyed our stay at the Backpackers. They were kind enough to pick us up at the airport, which was a great help. It was nice to have someone waiting for us after a long day of travel. It made the beginning of our stay much more pleasant not to have to worry about getting taxis and wondering if all of our luggage would fit!
We found all of the staff there to be extremely helpful. Apple was incredibly generous with directions and advice. She even brought one of our sick team member’s tea and checked on us later that same evening. There was always someone available to help, no matter the time of day. The breakfast was a great treat too – especially since they offered both western and eastern choices.
We will definitely recommend a stay at the Backpackers for groups who find themselves in Beijing. The price was great, the rooms were clean and the location gave us a true flavor of China. Thanks to all of those at the Backpackers who made our stay such an enjoyable experience.

The bathroom could be equipped with a rake to take the water off the floor after having had a shower as the floor was all wet. I think this would add to the good feeling of Downtown Backpackers. We had a wonderful time in Beijing and enjoyed staying at Backpackers. Thank you. |
