This is not a five star hotel. It is a Chinese three star - a fact that the staff acknowledges when asked. Over-priced, and poorly managed. |

I would highly recommend this hotel. It's not quite in the center of the city, although it is a very short taxi ride from the major downtown shopping spots as well as other sights on the western part of town.
The staff was very friendly overall; it was the kind of place where the staff greets you when you enter or pass by. There was an annoying guy at the check-out counter, but I guess almost every hotel has one or two bad apples, i.e. people who forget that they're there to serve the customer, rather than the other way around.
As with all hotels in China, your overall experience will depend somewhat on your facility with the Chinese language. I would say the staff at this hotel spoke English at an 7/10 level. Real five-star hotels should have staff that speak English a little better. Of course, if you speak Chinese, then everything should be fine.
