The Huangshan Shilin Hotel is a new 4-star hotel located at the foot of Lion Peak. It is located 10 minutes walking from the sunrise observation site and half an hour's walk from Yungu Cable-station. This hotel has quickly become famous and popular for its fine service and facilities.

The Shilin Hotel, which is 1,630 meters above the sea level, is located in the North Sea scenic area near the Lion Peak, The hotel is surrounded by mountains and pine trees. In the morning you can watch the sunrise, and in the evening guests can enjoy the colorful clouds. The following scenic spots are all within your easy reach, such as Shilin Peak, Flower Peak, and peaks like "Immortals Playing Chess" or "Monkey Watching the Sea". The hotel is just 1km away from the cloud valley cableway and offers easy access to all the scenic spots mentioned.

The Shilin Hotel mainly accommodates foreign guests and tourists. There are two suites, 18 rooms for couples, and 122 double rooms. The hotel is equipped with closed-circuit TV, central air-conditioning, program controlled Telephones and an automatic fire alarm system. a very disagreeable room. Shower flooded entire bathroom floor. Room very dated and small. Desk personnel were excellent. It is a shame that the room does not match the quality and helpfulness of the front desk staff. Room furniure needs to be tossed out and rooms need to be updated. Bed was like lying on on a board. Restaurant was terrible . We ate next door at the Behai. Tremendous Praise for helpfulness of front desk staff; fooey with the room and restaurant. |

It is understandable that you'll pay premium price for staying at the top of Huangshan. However, the quality of the room and the food is somewhat disappointing given the price. The bathroom is very small and poorly designed. Be very careful when you take a shower, otherwise everything gets wet, including the toilet paper! |

The Shilin is at a top location - that is for sure! On the other hand the hotel value for money is poor, it is way overpriced for what they offer, this includes staff attitude. Avoid the Shilin if you wanna have it dry on your toilet. They have placed the toilet right beside the shower without any splash water protection - so using the toilet after having taken a shower is a kind of wet affair. Restaurant is also way overpriced. So all in all the Shilin is not a bad choice - you get a clean room at a top location - but as i said, do not expect too much for a high price. |
