The 3-star Shanghai Pacific Hotel, (Formerly Hua Qiao Hotel) is one of the subsidiaries of Shanghai Jin Jiang Group.

I do not want to rate the hotel with respect to the above points.
I saw the official room rates mentionned in a booklet placed in the room (800-1200 RMB for a standard room). Our room was probably one of the 800 RMB rooms. Considering we got no breakfast tickets I would say that we did not save much by taking your offer of 738 RMB.
With respect to the staff attitude then the valet had become too Americanized as he looked like he would never leave unless he got some money - he was not begging but was as close to begging as I have ever seen someone.
The people working at the art shop were some of the most sleek people have ever seen - totally untrustworthy :-) . I really hope that the shop has been changed to a flower shop (as they told me) should I ever come back to Shanghai Pacific.

Very friendly & helpful staff, good value for money relation, easy central location (could not be better, main shopping street nearby, superb dining all around in the area, Grand Theatre in walking distance, Shanghai Museum in walking distance. Rooms are clean, all people nice. Internet access is free.
Breakfast typical (extra charge) but better taking elsewhere.
