Shenyang City Central Youth Hostel's former identity was the "General's Club" of the Northeastern Army, which was led by Zhang Xueliang, the celebrated general of Northeastern China of China’s modern history.
The hostel is located in Shenyang's downtown, close to Shenyang's most famous business and tourism spots such as "Zhong Jie Street", "Shenyang Central Temple", and "Shengyang Qing Imperial Palace".
The hostel's main building was constructed in 1925. Now the original European architecture outline still remains. The hostel has an exhibition of pictures of General Zhang Xueliang in different periods of his military life.
The hostel's neighboring scenic spots also include " Northeastern Governor Palace" and "Zhang's Shuaifu Museum".
