Beijing Sihe Hotel is a Chinese traditional courtyard hotel in Beijing,it is accepted as the best hostel in Beijing. It is situated in a preserved and protected Hutong area, a typical local residency neighborhood, 20 minutes' walk away from the alleyways to Tian'anmen Square, Qianmen Business center and Forbidden City. The courtyard of the hotel was more than 300 years old, and it was the former residence of famous Chinese artist Mr.MeiLanFang.
The courtyard is built in the style of the Qing dynasty, quiet and comfortable. You can take a traditional rickshaw or a self-guided map tour to explore the area. Many of the historical attractions include Tian'anmen Square, Forbidden City, Liulichang (Antique Market) and the former embassy area. It is a very good choice when staying in Beijing.

The VIP room is also the principle room of the whole quadrangle.
It's located at the north side and faces the south. The bed-like compartment, which was carved with the pattern of "Peonies,"separates the room into three functional areas. The bedroom area is equipped with a comfortable king-sized flower-carved bed, antique side tables, a bureau, a wardrobe, and palace lanterns, all together with today's modern facilities (IDD, cable TV, Internet access…etc.)
The reception area (living room) is spacious and luxurious.
The bath room is furnished with high class bathing facilities.
On the east and west side of the inner courtyard, there are two executive rooms with doors open facing the courtyard, also called "Xiang Fang" in the old times. All rose-wood furniture including the king size antique bed and comfortable "Luo Han" bed (for receiving the guests), which were carved with auspicious designs, make the room like the home of Chinese imperial royalty. Furnished with today's modern facilities ( IDD, bathing; cable TV…etc. ), the executive room will provide you with the most satisfying residence for your holiday or business trip.
The Deluxe Rooms are located at the wing side and inner quarter. Like the executive rooms, they are furnished with antique furniture and five-star facilities to serve your business needs.

Lovely but a bit overpriced. Compared to hotel chains Sihe has its own personality: beautiful courtyard, nice rooms equipped with the finest furniture. You can spend your time reading in the very peculiar garden, finding peace and armony. If you are willing to pay for this... Probably suitable for families with children who needs rest and space. We spent our days walking a lot so we didn't take advantage of these amenities.
Located in a typical hutong, we always felt safe, no problem with taxi driver.
Near to the famous Wangfujing street, within a walking distance to the underground (5-8 minutes).
Staff is fantastic: helpful in sorting out every kind of problem, satisfactory level of english.
Only one downside: the breakfast was quite poor.

It was fachinating to find this lovely oasis middle of Beijing. The location was perfect, walking distance to many sights and only couple of minutes to Dongsi Underground station. I stayed here 10 nights with my two teen kinds (16 & 19) and we shared a delux room with an extra bed. The room was large enough, nice beds. The only negative aspect was the breakfast room that was tiny.
The staff was very service minded even if their English wasn't very good. They helped us with bookings and we got free ride to the Airport when leaving Beijing. We will certainly stay here again next time we will visit Beijing. |

A very nice place to stay when you are with somebody who is for the first time in China, romantic athmosphere especially in the executive rooms. The direct environment is not so exciting, messy street but that is also China :-). Location for sightseeing and shopping is ok. |
