I have always liked Ascott, regardless whether it is in Beijing or Shanghai. The ambience and facilities are fine if you are not the picky type (unfortunately I am). Staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are good sized rooms and the CD/DVD player ROCKS! The only thing that I wasn't thrill about was the location. It is not within walking distance to good restaurants or shopping malls. You have to take a taxi out and the doorman will help you get one. It is definitely great for long stay as it is quiet and cosy. They also have frquent shuttle bus service to malls and supermarkets. |

This is a 5 star facility in both the rooms and service. All reception staff spoke good english and the rooms was top notch. The 2 bedroom apartment was comfortable with a fully functioning kitchen and washing machine. You can have your clothes laundered it you wish. Room service was efficient. Don't be put off by the location as there is a shuttle bus that departs 4-5 times a day to various tourist locations such as the nanjing rd shopping district, Xiang yang market, Bund, etc... it is also within 10 to 15min walk from the metro. I would not hesitate in staying here again. This is unbeatable value for our family of 4 adults and a toddler in a 5 star facility. breakfast was also good value at 26 yuan per person. |
