Dear Sinohotel Agent
I did show up at this hotel and stayed one night. I left and moved to the
Nei Menggu Binguan (Sinohotel Reservation: 267388) which you booked for me
after I had phoned to say that the Xing Hua Yuan Hotel did not correspond in
any way to the description on your internet page. It is only a modest
two-star hotel, is about 3 kilometres from the Lama Temple (not 800metres),
and does not look in the least like the published pictures. For your
information I enclose a photo of the building from the outside. There was no
international direct dial phone in the hotel, and the bathroom was rather
primitive (no shower cabin, so that the whole bathroom floor got wet when
you showered). The room I had was reasonably clean (after I'd got them to
remove all the cobwebs hanging from the ceiling!) and quiet but very small.
I think the young people running this hotel are quite inexperienced and
cannot differentiate between their wishful thinking and reality. They were
quite surprised that I should think it wasn't all right to have submitted
photos of another hotel, and pointed out that the bedrooms did show the real
ones.
I suggest you take this hotel right out of your list.
The Nei Menggu Hotel was fine.
Yours sincerely
