The hotel was pretty nice, and pretty clean but sometimes they did not clean the room that well. We know that from the dirt we accidentally left in a corner of the room but when we came back in the night, the dirt was still there.
The location is excellent, mall is just next to the hotel with good chinese products. Taxi is very easy, close to everywhere!
one more thing that is so shameful, THE HOTEL DOES NOT ACCEPT MAJOR CREDIT CARDS SUCH AS VISA AND MASTER CARD! That was very shocking for us, since we had to pay deposit in the amount of RMB 10.000 (around U$ 1500), and we had to pay things we used or ate which were not compliments from the hotel.
It is a bit weird since it was somehow a 4-5 star hotel! The last time I stayed in the other hotel, World Trade Plaza Shijiazhuang last October, they accepted major credit cards.

We stayed at Hebei Century Hotel, Shijiazhuang, China, for 2 nights in July 2007. We were very nosy what we would experience, as this is a five-star-hotel with incredibly cheap prices. What we found is: a splendid luxurious lobby with live music, very good service with English speaking staff, a huge breakfast buffet of outstanding quality (including European und US-style food and coffee), but a quite simple, dark room. With its old furniture and dirty floor carpet, our double room looked like you would expect in a simple countryside inn in Europe or USA and not in an 5-star-hotel. However, the room was absolutely clean. On the whole: for this price the rooms are ok and the rest of this hotel is simply great!
