Down-town Fo1 Shan1 (means Budist Mountain, the number refer to pin yin tone for those interested in correct pronounciation), other wise called Chan2 Chen2 (means Buddist City ... but mis-pronounce it as Chan3 Chen3 and you are saying the great wall) is actually quite small, so any location in Chan Chen is somewhat close to everything. I like to walk, and this hotel is an easy walk to the bus station (3 blocks), to the modern type shopping complete with (ugh) Macdonalds and KFC, to the ancient temple, or to typical chinese markets and streets. The staff spoke reasonable english when I needed it but also endured my attempts to communicate in Mandarine. They always showed the friendliness and serving attitude that I have come to expect and certainly appreciate from the Chinese. The beds were typically hard, but a couple of extra blankets fixed that problem. They looked after my every need ... all I had to do was ask. It is not a five star hotel, but I slept soundly and ate well enough. I will certainly come back to this hotel. I did not use their leisure or business facilities and thus could not comment. |

this Hotel is very comfortable and the food is generally very tasty! The western food is "not quite western" but still higher than average standard. Chinese food is delicious! The staff are extremely helpful and most polite and the rooms are very clean comfortable and well thought out! All in all a good place to stay! |
